Food Bank

Foodbank

The Sanctuary Food Bank program, located at and financially supported by West Preston Baptist Church, provides weekly food and monthly hygiene supplies to asylum seekers at Baptcare’s Sanctuary and Houses of Hope. With the help of 15 volunteers, 6,000 food bags and hygiene packs were distributed last year, demonstrating the profound impact of community support and compassion.

The Hunger Tree Project

Hunger Tree Project

The Hunger Tree project provides lunches to students in two primary schools/pre-schools schools in Kenya. For the majority of these students, this provides their first meal of the day and on some days, their only meal. This project is close to our heart because on of our church members grew up in one these schools. On a visit to Kenya, a parent of one of the school children said "you have done for our children what we have no power to do for them."

Homelessness Program

Homelessness Program

Our community outreach ministry is committed to aiding those in need, particularly the homeless, through various support services. Partnering with Haven Home Safe in Victoria, we provide essential food and hygiene packs, bridging the gap between immediate needs and long-term housing solutions. Our efforts, funded through community donations and recycling programs, aim to bring hope and relief, expanding our impact and supporting vital organizations in their work.

The Navigators

Navigators

We support Tim and Kanini Mapperson's mission with The Australian Navigators, focusing on discipling working people and families in Melbourne’s Northern suburbs. Through personal mentorship, community gatherings, and opening their home, they equip others to live out their faith and raise up new disciple-makers. We invite our church community to partner with and support their impactful work in spreading the Gospel.

Beyond Subsistence

Beyond Subsistence

Beyond Subsistence is a non-profit organisation that supports subsistence farmers in Africa "to bring about long-term, sustainable improvements in the areas of farm productivity, nutrition, housing, community wealth and the environment." West Preston Baptist Church provides financial support and one of our members contributes to the organisation's governance.

Pioneers Australia

Pioneers Australia

We support a missionary family working with Pioneers Australia to bring the gospel to a country in South East Asia.
